Our first penalty wasn't quite enough to get us the win
It’s tough when you play such good football and still go two goals down. A quick throw-in catches us off guard, followed by a looping finish—nothing Kenna could have done about it.
Our girls started brightly, creating great chances in the opening ten minutes, but couldn’t convert. Then at 2–0 down, Mallory strikes—her effort crashing off the outside of the post. It just wasn’t our day.
Kate drives into the box with sheer grit and determination. A heavy challenge comes in—taking her legs and none of the ball. The referee points to the spot.
Who steps up? Our goalscoring goalkeeper, Avery. Calm and composed, she drills it low and hard into the bottom left corner. 2–1.
The halftime whistle blows.
Once again, Covenant look the stronger side, but the damage is done. A goalless second half follows, and despite the effort, it ends in a tough loss—one that feels like a punch to the stomach. With yellow cards flying and players hobbling off, it was a hard-fought battle.
A tough result, but some great football played. Well done, Eagles—heads up!
