Welcome!

I am grateful you have chosen to learn more about The Covenant School and explore the many ways our faculty, staff, and coaches have chosen to invest in the lives of our students. For nearly 40 years, Covenant has remained committed to academic excellence under the sovereignty of God. However, at Covenant, we also realize that we must engage the whole student, for a great education must go beyond a rigorous academic program. It is for this reason that our faculty seek to intentionally pursue, know, and nurture our students, challenging them to follow the example of Jesus Christ as each of them grows in knowledge and virtue.

As I begin my first year as the Head of School at Covenant, I am honored to serve in a school community that is both distinct and highly intentional in the manner in which we seek to shape our students. The basis of our school is the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, the infallible Word of God, as interpreted in the historic Christian Confessions. Yet, not only is Covenant anchored in the truth of God’s Word, but it is also rooted firmly in the Western liberal arts tradition. Such a clear and principled approach to Christian education is especially critical today, at a time when the culture in which we live is so often marked by confusion, skepticism, and doubt.

Our faculty is truly a community of scholars and friends, and our Christian Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) approach to education was born out of a shared vision of our teachers to train our students in a way that aligns with the foundational truth that Christ is the center of all things. Therefore our CLAS approach encourages students to see the connections between and coherences of the various subjects they study. The hallmark of our robust Christian Liberal Arts education is that students will learn to understand that all of reality finds ultimate meaning and coherence in Christ.

Even as we acknowledge our faculty as the greatest asset of The Covenant School, we believe that the primary responsibility for education rests upon parents to whom children are entrusted by God. Therefore, our faculty, staff, and coaches seek to actively partner with our parents in the education of their children as we steward their gifts, shepherd their hearts, train their bodies, and engage their minds here at Covenant.

I hope you take the time to explore our website and see the many ways in which we are preparing the next generation to engage the ideas of our day in a manner that is attractive, humble, and ultimately, redemptive. I would also invite you to visit one of our campuses to observe classes, meet faculty, and discover for yourself what is unique about The Covenant School.

All the best,
Brad Baggett
