The four years of Upper School at Covenant provide rich ground for students to apply the skills they have developed in the Lower and Middle Schools in sophisticated ways. Our Upper School offers a rich, comprehensive program, preparing young adults for life after Covenant. The college preparatory curriculum employs the best of classical and modern thought. Honors and accelerated courses are offered in all core disciplines and the Arts. Our Office of College and Academic Advising offers support and guidance to families as students craft a course selection sequence designed to help them fulfill their potential.

Meet the Upper School Director

In 2022, Nikki Shrader joined the History Department at The Covenant School, after having taught social studies for 17 years in local public schools. Nikki graduated from the University of Virginia in 2005, earning Bachelor of Arts and Master of Teaching degrees. Over the years, Nikki has taught myriad classes, sponsored Student Councils, facilitated student leadership programs, and coached JV softball and JV field hockey. As Upper School Director, Nikki serves students and families in Grades 9-12.
