Real World Issues Discussion
Counselor Megan Bleakley will facilitate three discussion groups exploring common areas of concern for adolescent students.
Topics of Discussion:
Fall Group: Relationships. Period.
Relationships are all around us, we can't survive without them, we are made for them and yet at times we wish we could escape the pain, drama, and difficulty relationships can bring. In this group we will talk about what it means to have healthy relationships and how we get there. So we’ll talk about topics like; boundaries, co-dependency, how to deal with difficult personalities, navigating social media & more.
Winter Group: This Pressure Is Killing Me!
Do you ever feel like you're running 100 miles an hour and have a hard time stopping? Do you feel a constant pressure to perform or do well… in most everything? Are you tired of running and wish you had more balance in your life? Then this group is for you. In this group we will discuss topics like; overcoming perfectionism, how to relax - for real, where does your worth and identity come from & more.
Spring Group: What To Do When…
Being a teenager today is no easy task. Teens are faced with challenges around every corner like peer pressure, cyber-bullying, addiction, depressed feelings, body image concerns, anxiety or fill in the blank. This group will be a place we will discuss what to do when these challenges and pressures are present in your life or your family member or friend’s life, how to navigate difficult circumstances and what to do when either you or someone you love needs help.
