Pentagonal Prisms or "Bloom Balls" in Middle School Latin

Latin 1 students have been working on projects centered around several mythological stories retold by the Roman author Ovid in his poem "The Metamorphoses." As the title suggests, the episodes found within this book are unified around the theme of transformation.
Students individually explored a story whereby a human incurred the wrath of an angry deity, ranging in cause but ending in metamorphosis and ultimately in tragedy.

Students then transformed their respective stories into Bloom Balls which are 3-dimensional projects created by completing varying tasks and activities aimed to move students through the levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy. The project offers students at all levels the opportunity to demonstrate their engagement and understanding of complex texts.
