Covenant Golf Perseveres to Victory over VES

Carter Brown's 40 on a rain soaked afternoon at Spring Creek Golf Club lead the Eagles to a narrow victory over the Virginia Episcopal School.   Both schools battled through the adverse playing conditions, as well as the limited hours of day light, and staged an epic match while demonstrating great sportsmanship.   After the first three matches had posted scores, Covenant held an 18 stroke lead thanks to Carter's tournament low score of 40 and Joe Bonistalli's 50.   However, after the fourth and fifth matches posted, VES took a two shot lead.   With all of the players, coaches and spectators watching, the final twosome made their way to the ninth green with the match on the line.  Senior Noah Lewis was able to two putt from 20 feet to launch Covenant to a two shot victory!  Reviewing the scorecards, both Carter Brown and Cade Kuehler birdied the final hole of competition to capture victory.  Cade shot his career tournament low score of 54.  Congratulations team on an outstanding effort.
