Mary Jones Wins Middle School Spelling Bee

On February 11th, Middle Schoolers Ariana Alimard, Carter Brown, Graham Carter, Carter Kardell, Nathan Klintworth, Maddox Nelson, Owen Bradley, Henry Hallock, Mary Jones, and Sophie Brissett competed in the annual Covenant School Spelling Bee.
They, along with qualifying Lower School Students Sam Gayle and Kinsley Verbrugge, spent several rounds spelling words given to them by Emcee (and Faculty member) Sam Heath and assessed by four judges.

After some great spelling, Nathan Klintworth (last year's winner) and Mary Jones were in the final round. Mary won with the word "vicarage". See her spell the winning word here.

Mary will go on to participate in The Daily Progress Regional Spelling Bee at Albemarle High School on March 9th at 10 a.m.
