A Cappella Singing

This course will be a working lab-style exploration of a cappella group singing. It is open by audition to any student in grades 9 through 12 and is worth a ½ Arts credit for the year. We will experiment with how our voices can produce sound of many kinds, how intervals and chords are formed, melody and harmony lines, and finally a wide variety of voices-only vocal literature. Performance opportunities both in-house and beyond will be arranged. By year’s end, we will have learned about the challenge, skill and beauty of making music together using only our voices and bodies.
