Dalton and Gardiner Compete in The Foot Locker Cross Country Nationals

Reece Dalton and Maddie Gardiner earned All American honors at this year's Foot Locker Cross Country Nationals.
In late November, Reece Dalton and Maddie Gardiner competed in the Nike Cross Regionals in Cary, NC coming in 2nd and 4th respectively. This qualified them for the Nike Nationals in Portland, OR where they placed 27th and 14th respectively. The Nike Cross Nationals has been around for about 15 years and it is highly competitive for an individual to qualify for this race. 
 
A week later, Reece and Maddie competed in the Foot Locker Cross Country Regionals in the highly competitive South Region. The top ten finishers from each region are then qualified for the Footlocker Cross Country Nationals in San Diego. Both Reece and Maddie qualified to run in the Nationals in San Diego finishing 8th and 5th respectively. 
 
The Foot Locker Cross Country Nationals is run by the top 10 from each of the four regions around the country (the top 40 high school runners from around the nation!). This race has been around for a long time and is the ultimate mark of achievement for high school runners. Reece and Maddie represented the Southern region, which ended up winning. Both Reece and Maddie finished in the top 15 earning them the status of All Americans.
 
This year was Maddie's 3rd time qualifying for The Foot Locker Cross Country Nationals which is quite an accomplishment.
