Last Friday, students at our Birdwood Campus hosted their annual STEAM Fair.
This event is designed to help students explore science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics through the scientific process. Students were instructed to pick their project topics using their current science curriculum but also encouraged to incorporate cross-curriculum themes such as music, visual art, and historical science.
Students in grades 1-4 created projects as a class, while students in grade 5 completed their projects in pairs and presented to classmates, visitors, and judges. Many of the judges for the fifth-grade projects included Hickory Campus Science students.
The winners of the STEAM Fair will be announced once scoring is complete.
