    How to Apply Online

OnCampus is the platform through which we track the admission process for applicants. It is also where you will find our online Application for Admission.

Current Covenant families should use their onCampus information to login.

If you are applying without having previously inquired, you will need to create an account. Parents who have previously inquired within the past year already have an onCampus username. You will need to retrieve this username and then create a password.

    • Go to onCampus.
    • To obtain your login information, click "Forgot login or First time logging in?"
    • Enter your email address that you used in the inquiry stage and check the “Username” and “Password” boxes.
    • You will receive two follow-up emails. One (subject line: “Username Request”) will provide you with your username. The other (subject line: “Password Request URL”) will provide instructions on setting a password.

To complete an Application for Admission, login to onCampus.
    • Click on your child's name in the top left corner.
    • View the “Checklist” under “Admissions Progress.”
    • Click the “Fill Out” button to start the online application.

For assistance, please contact the Admissions Office at admissions@covenantschool.org.

  • Step 3: Submit Transcript Release Form and Recommendation Forms to Current School

The Transcript Release Form (Grades 1–12) should be signed and submitted to the applicant’s current school no earlier than December 1. Teacher Recommendation Forms for students applying to Pre-K through Grade 12 should be submitted to the applicant’s current school no earlier than January 1 and should be returned directly to The Covenant School Admissions Office. Two recommendations forms are required for students applying for admission to Grades 6–12. Homeschooled students must also complete the Addendum Form.

Once an application has been received, someone in the Admissions Office will contact you with the necessary paperwork.
  • Step 4: Participate in Admissions Testing

    Lower School
Individual and group evaluations are scheduled through the Admissions Office for Lower School applicants and take about 1.5 hours to complete.

Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten applicants will participate in a one-hour School Readiness session, which will include both individual and group activities. The Head of Lower School will conduct an Admissions presentation for parents while their children are in their evaluation groups.

    Middle School
Middle School applicants are evaluated during scheduled appointments on the Hickory Campus.  This admissions testing takes approximately 2 hours to complete. Middle school applicants may choose instead to take the SSAT (see dates and times listed under the Upper School section).

    Upper School
Upper School applicants may submit PSAT, SAT, PACT, or ACT scores for consideration.  Applicants without these scores are required to take the SSAT test as part of the admission process. Ninth grade applicants may be evaluated during a scheduled appointment on the Hickory Campus or may register for the SSAT. Covenant will offer the SSAT at the Upper School on the following dates from 8:00 a.m. – noon:

    • Saturday, January 5, 2019
    • Saturday, March 2, 2019
    • Saturday, April 27, 2019
    Register HERE

Our SSAT school code is 2640

  • Step 5: Student Visit

Applicants to Grades 1–5 are required to spend a day shadowing one of our current students in their current grade level. Admissions testing may be conducted on the day of the student visit or may be scheduled for another day. Non-local applicants should contact the Admissions Office for alternative arrangements.

Students entering grades 6-12 are also required to spend a day attending classes. Visitors are assigned a host to shadow during the day, giving them an opportunity to meet students and teachers and to find out first-hand what makes Covenant distinct.
  • Step 6: Student Interview (Middle and Upper Schools only)

The student interview is an important part of the application process for Middle and Upper School applicants. This interview will be scheduled individually with the appropriate Head of School and will last approximately 30 minutes.

The Admissions Committee sends first round decision letters and Enrollment Contracts by mid-February for applicants to Pre-K and K and early March for applicants to Grades 1–12. There is a rolling admissions process throughout the rest of the year based on space availability in each grade.
