Seventh Grade Life Science is All About Cells

While launching into their unit on genetics and heredity, students in Mrs. Green’s seventh-grade Life Science classes had the unique opportunity to listen to a local guest speaker (and Covenant parent) from the world of label-free cell analysis.
Mrs. Renee Hart, President and CBO of LumaCyte, presented via Zoom about some very timely topics, including technological detection of infection based on cellular response to virus. She shared videos of what it looks like when a virus infects cells, modeling of multi-variable data collection/analysis, and information about what LumaCyte does with laser-force cytology (cell analysis and sorting). We are so grateful for our wonderful parent community that allows our students cool real-world and informational opportunities!
