The Covenant School is pleased to announce the new head of our football program, Steve Momorella. We look forward to watching Coach Momorella develop our athletes and continue a tradition and culture that molds and shapes our young men into men of character through football.
Steve Momorella has accepted the position of Head Football Coach at The Covenant School. Having played sports since the age of 5, culminating in a pitching career at Washington & Lee University, Steve continued his passion for athletics coaching various sports at the travel, JV, and High School levels, most recently at Western Albemarle High School. For the past three years, Steve was responsible for the Varsity defensive backs and helped coach the JV team. Prior to joining the football coaching staff in 2018, Steve helped start the JV tennis program and coached JV and Varsity field hockey at Western.
“I am extremely grateful and fortunate for the opportunity that Jason and the Covenant family have given me. Coaching young men and women for the past thirteen years has provided me a great foundation to help restart this program and I look forward to working with the administration and athletic department to build a successful and long-lasting culture around the football program.”
For the past 22 years, Steve has owned TEKGROUP International, a marketing and PR software company, and has been an active member in the local community, working with elementary and middle school children in academic and athletic endeavors as well as volunteering with the Virginia Special Olympics tennis program. Steve is a 15-year Charlottesville resident, currently living in Crozet with his wife Jean, and daughters Ainsley and Reese.
