Student Spotlight : Charlie Lepage

Time management can be a challenging task, but junior, Charlie Lepage, strives hard to make sure he balances his time in academics, sports, music, and personal hobbies.  “Managing time, for me, has been possible only through creating a schedule and sticking to it,” he said.
Charlie first enrolled at Covenant for his freshman year in 2017 and has taken a variety of classes from the start. When asked about his favorite class so far, he expressed, “Both of my Bible electives have been awesome, mainly because of the interactions and discussions we have.” He has also had many exciting experiences at Covenant such as traveling to New York City with his freshman class and recently to Vienna, Austria with Vocation, Covenant’s a capella group.

Along with keeping up with his academic studies, Charlie plays a variety of sports, sings in Vocation, and is participating in his third musical production. This semester, Charlie is a varsity wrestler as well as playing the role of General Schmitz in the Covenant School musical production of Seussical.

Outside of school, Charlie enjoys drawing, painting, hiking, and cooking; but most of all, he loves to go camping. Charlie also has five brothers, and he recognizes them as integral to his success in balancing his schedule. “I couldn’t have made it this far without their example and support, ” he said.

To make the most of the time and experiences at Covenant, Charlie encourages incoming high school students to, “take advantage of every opportunity you’re given because everything we have here is a blessing. Nothing is guaranteed, so we should live out every day to the best of our ability, knowing that every second is a blessing from God.”

After graduating from Covenant, Charlie hopes to attend Christopher Newport University to study psychology and the University of Virginia Law School to become a lawyer.
