Graphic Novels in Historical Context

This course will focus on three graphic novels and the actual historical events surrounding their stories. The design of this course is to introduce students to a different medium and explore the richness of the genre through three non-fiction works. The goal is to give the students context for the works by exploring the broader events surrounding them, thus creating an opportunity for empathy as we read about people who may, and in fact do, live different lives.
