On behalf of The Covenant School Board of Directors, we are excited to announce today that Bradley Baggett has been appointed the new Head of School effective no later than July 1, 2022.
“I consider it a genuine honor to join The Covenant School community and to serve alongside a faculty committed to developing the whole student through the proven framework of the Christian Liberal Arts and Sciences. Throughout the search process, I was drawn to the Covenant School through the multiple stories I heard of how profoundly the teachers, coaches, and distinct school culture have impacted the lives of both students and families. Kimberly and I are humbled by this opportunity, and I personally look forward to working alongside the faculty as we continue the pursuit of academic excellence under the sovereignty of God.” Brad Baggett
CarterBaldwin, our search consultant, sent the Head of School Profile to their network of over 4,000 individuals. The Committee reviewed over 25 well-qualified candidate applications, reviewed hundreds of pages of information, conducted hours of interviews, and – most importantly – spent many hours in prayer. We would like to thank you for your covering of prayer for us, the candidates, and the process. We made it very clear to all the candidates that we are not looking to change direction, but rather to maintain our current philosophy and culture and grow from our strong foundation.
Brad is an accomplished Head of School, a strong and compassionate leader, and a man of God. He has over 13 years of experience as a Head of School. Brad has a strong track record of academic excellence and successful fundraising activity. It is clear he aligns with Covenant’s mission and educational philosophy of the Christian Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS). In addition to his academic career, Brad served over 10 years as founding pastor for a church in Texas. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and earned a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
“Brad joins Covenant with a heart that is fixed firmly on Jesus,” said Mary Katherine Peters, Vice-Chair of the Covenant School Board. “He has a proven track record of leadership in Christian schools and is excited to take the helm of this extraordinary school and move us forward into this new season. The alignment was clear and we are thrilled to welcome him to the Covenant community.”
Brad and his wife, Kimberly, have six children: Isabella (19), Elijah (17), Scarlett (16), Atticus (16), Priscilla (6), and Magnolia (5).
Again, as a full Board of Directors, we are excited to have Brad join the team. Most importantly, we are thankful to God for his provision and faithfulness and are excited for what He has in store for Covenant.
