Lunch at Covenant provides more than an opportunity to eat!  Lunchtime is designed to build a sense of community and encourage interaction among students.

Students have the option of purchasing lunches or they may bring a lunch from home. Purchased lunches, provided by a popular local vendor, and milk, must be ordered in advance. Parents receive an order form periodically throughout  the year well in advance of each pre-order deadline. If sending lunch from home, parents are asked to pack nonperishable food, since refrigeration is not available, or use an insulated container. Microwave ovens are available for students to heat lunches. Examples of catered school lunches include salads, wraps, pizza, chicken nuggets, and sub sandwiches. Fruit cups, jell-o, pudding, cookies, and chips accompany catered lunches.

Lower School students are encouraged to drink milk, juice, or water with their lunches.  Carbonated beverages should not be brought in except for special occasions such as class parties. Upper School students have an average of 40 minutes for lunch. Students sit with friends in the cafeteria while they eat, then they enjoy free time on the Colonnade or athletic fields. Some students prefer to use this time to meet with a teacher, or use a ‘quiet room’ to study or rest. Eleventh Graders are allowed to have lunch with other members of the junior class in an area designated just for them. Seniors, if they are in good academic and behavioral standing and have parental permission, have the privilege of leaving campus for lunch.
