The Parent Teacher Council Executive Board oversees the activities sponsored by PTC. The Executive Board consists of four officers and eight vice presidents. This group meets on the second Tuesday of each month to plan upcoming activities. The officers of the board are the President, the Past President, the Secretary, and the Treasurer.
President
Organizes the PTC, plans the Executive Board meetings, and attends the meetings of the Covenant School Board of Directors.
Past President
Advises the board.
Secretary
Takes minutes at all PTC Board meetings and helps PTC committees publicize events. Minutes of the Parent Teacher Council Board meetings are available in binders located at the front desk of each campus.
Treasurer
Keeps the books of the PTC, writes checks, and acts as an advisor.
Vice President
Attends and coordinates meetings as necessary.
Vice President of Upper School Family Life
Oversees the activities of the Upper School grade representatives, Headmaster Coffees/Brown Bag Lunches, and Fall Fling (a school-wide family picnic held each fall).
Vice President of Lower School Family Life
Meets with the Lower School grade representatives on a regular basis. This person also coordinates Lower School speaker seminars, Head of School Coffees/Brown Bag Lunches, Fall Fling, and semester-end teacher gifts.
Vice President of Fundraising
Oversees the Fall Poinsettia Sale and Spring Geranium Sale. He or she also coordinates registration for Kroger Receipts and Giant Bucks, the Betty Crocker Box Top collection, and other ongoing fundraising opportunities.
Vice President of Spiritual Life
Oversees school prayer activities, Operation Christmas Child (the collection of shoe boxes filled with gift items to be sent to refugee children worldwide), and the Live Nativity (our annual production of the Biblical events surrounding the Nativity).
Vice Presidents of Upper and Lower School Teacher Life
Oversee our efforts to make sure Covenant teachers know they are appreciated. These include birthday cards to the teachers and staff, coffee and tea tables at both campuses, refreshments at monthly staff meetings, soup buffets during parent/teacher conferences, and the year-end Teacher/Staff Appreciation Luncheon.
Vice President of Volunteers
Compiles the results of the volunteer surveys taken each year. These are kept in binders located at the front desks of both campuses. Teachers, staff, and any volunteer event chairpersons are encouraged to consult these binders when seeking parents to help with school activities.
Vice President of Covenant Family Connections
Works closely with families new to The Covenant School to help them feel connected to the School community. This person oversees coffees and teas designed to welcome new parents, coordinates several school wide “spirit days,” and encourages phone calls and other efforts to communicate and welcome new students and parents.
