February, 22 2012 • Each year, Covenant's 5th and 6th graders serve throughout community in many ways as part of their I Corinthians 13 Day of Service. This year, one team hosted a Valentine's Day party for guests at Abundant Life. Antoher team bagged and sorted groceries for the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry, which feeds over 5000 families in need every year. Watch a slideshow of Covenant students in action!

February, 13 2012 • Seniors Josiah Zodhiates (132 pounds) and David Collmus (182 pounds), joined by freshman star Paul Huemme (120 pounds), have an overall combined record of 102-12 this term and each look to be crowned the top wrestler in the state in their respective weight classes. "They have been with me three years now," coach Colin Anderson said of his senior duo. "They have certainly been sort of the leader figures of our team. Last year Josiah finished second in the state, which is the best finish we have ever had. They are paving a new course. They are both captains of our team. In terms of leadership and setting a new standard, they have really done that." Read more here!

December, 15 2011 • Covenant junior Grace Lee recently earned the opportunity to attend UVA's Food Security Summit. Grace was able to share her ideas regarding her Gleaning Assistance Program, which she is developing to improve the distribution of produce from local farms to families in need. Grace hopes to create partnerships throughout the community to join this worthwhile cause.
December, 7 2011 • Seven of Covenant's 5th and 6th graders are enjoying a new elective this year, "Literary Hodge-Podge". These budding young journalists have just published the second edition of the Eagle Gazette, an online school newspaper. Check it out here!

February, 8 2012 • Upper and Lower School Parents, please come to the next PTC meeting on Tuesday, February 14th, from 12:30 - 1:30 pm in the Lower School Library! Come hear Rita Smith, MS, RD, CDE, who is a registered Dietician and Certified Diabetes Educator employed by Martha Jefferson Hospital, speak on the American Heart Association guidelines for feeding families. At 12:30 Rita will give a 10 minute talk on the guidelines for feeding families, and then we will allow 20 minutes for questions/answers. Rita has worked in the field of nutrition and disease prevention for 35 years. She will offer advice on how to make good, nutritious choices for our families. From 1:00-1:30 we will conduct PTC business. Parents will be asked to give their input regarding PTC funds. You don't want to miss this very informational meeting!!! Dark chocolate will be served.
