Screenagers: RESERVE YOUR SPOT!
The PTC will host a showing of “Screenagers – Growing Up in the Digital Age” on Friday, March 3, at 6:30 p.m. in the Upper School Auditorium. Please follow this link to RSVP and reserve your spot. Tickets are free of charge, but we ask that you only reserve seats if you know you will be in attendance. As space will be limited, if your plans change and you find yourself unable to attend, please either pass your tickets on to another attendee or contact the organizer to put your seats back into the pool. The producers of the film say, “SCREENAGERS probes into the vulnerable corners of family life, including the director’s own, and depicts messy struggles, over social media, video games, academics and internet addiction. In conjunction with the movie screening, our PE faculty will be holding an Open Gym at the Upper School for children of parents attending the event. Children must be at least four years old; though the service is free, registration is required. Click here to register your child(ren) for Open Gym.
The Annual Auction
Covenant’s auction is one of the most anticipated events of the year! Parents, alumni and friends of the school come together for a fun night of food, fellowship and bidding at The Boar’s Head Inn. Auction proceeds – like donations from the Covenant Fund – bridge that gap between what parents pay and what it actually costs to educate students. Special opportunities to support specific school needs are also included in this incredible evening. Covenant’s annual auction is a wonderful time of fellowship. Parents, alumni and friends come together for a meal, silent, and live auctions. Volunteers are needed in a variety of roles before, during, and after the auction.
Fundraiser – The Covenant Fund
No matter where your child attends school, money is needed for academic excellence. Public schools are funded primarily through taxes. At the Covenant School and other private schools there is a gap between actual costs and what parents pay. The reason is simple: If schools charged the full amount to educate each student, many families would not be able to afford it. Instead, the gap is made up through fundraising. At Covenant, the annual auction and the Covenant Fund bridge the gap. These donations are used to pay for instructional materials, technology tools, professional development for our faculty, and many other things needed to operate the school day to day.
Each week a group of parents gathers on each campus to pray very intentionally for the members and needs of our school. This informal and open prayer time is led by parents for parents. The Covenant School originated because a group of parents began to pray. These prayers continue to be a blessing to our school community.
Lower School: Wednesdays 9:00 a.m.
Upper School: Tuesdays 8:15 a.m.
Please pray for Covenant as a family or attend weekly prayer during the school year. It’s a wonderful opportunity to build spiritual relationships and grow in faith as we watch God answer the prayers we offer to Him.
