Statement of Purpose

The Covenant School Financial Aid program provides deserving students an opportunity to obtain a private, Christian School education which otherwise might not be an option. The program also provides the School with a qualified student body representing a broad social and economic mix.  This program is available only to those families whose ability to pay tuition at The Covenant School is a determining factor in attending.

A limited financial aid budget, made up of funds raised and given for scholarship purposes, provides funds for partial tuition assistance.  Awards are made to families whose ability to pay school tuition is limited.  Financial Aid decisions are made separate from the admission decisions and do not affect a prospect’s chances for admission to The Covenant School.

Thirty percent (30%) of Covenant students received financial aid awards and over $800,000 was granted for the 2011-12 school year.

Policies

The Covenant School awards funds based on financial need to those candidates who have been accepted for admission.  All information submitted by parents is held in strict confidence by the Financial Aid Committee and the Administration.

Financial aid is not available for Pre-Kindergarten students.

Renewals:  Financial aid awards are made for one year and may be renewed subject to:

  1. Parents’ filing an annual financial application.
  2. The student maintaining the academic and citizenship standards expected of all students, and
  3. The availability of funds.

Family Contribution:  The Financial Aid Committee attempts to meet each family’s demonstrated need as best it can.  We expect families to share in the effort to extend our resources as widely as possible by contributing as much as they can to their own children’s education.

One-Parent/Divided Families:  It is important to receive all information about the parents’ contribution, regardless of the legal or personal relationship between them.  A standard Parent’s Financial Statement is completed by the custodial parent with a separate application submitted from the non-custodial parent.

The Covenant School admits students of any race, religion, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school.  It does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and/or loan programs, and athletic and other school administered programs.
