Academic Excellence under the Sovereignty of God

Founded in 1985, The Covenant School offers a non-denominational Christian Liberal Arts and Sciences education for day students in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12. Covenant serves families throughout the wider Charlottesville region as well as a limited international population, promoting students’ moral, intellectual, and physical development in an environment which is both stimulating and nurturing.

A Covenant education draws upon the deep foundations of traditional education as well as the best ofart class web contemporary instructional forms. The rigorous and thoughtfully designed academic and extracurricular program engages every dimension of the child: it forms a heart that honors God and desires truth, beauty, and goodness; it trains the mind to listen carefully, think critically, reason wisely, and articulate persuasively; and it shapes healthy habits and an integrative understanding of the physical, spiritual, and intellectual realms of life.

Historically, The Covenant School has graduated young adults who gain admission to top universities and pursue advanced degrees and notable careers. Stand-out athletes and talented fine arts performers have also come from Covenant’s ranks. Ultimately, Covenant seeks to shape lives that succeed beyond the high school and college classroom, to help form young men and women who lead lives of humble leadership and service to God and others.

The Covenant School offers:

    • Small class sizes; the average is 15 students or less.
    • Loving and highly skilled teachers; 45% have earned advanced degrees.
    • STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and Singapore Math programs.
