Whether creating a sculpture, designing a stage set, harmonizing in a concert, or strumming a chord, the Fine Arts Department at The Covenant School encourages students to explore their talents.  Covenant’s rich fine arts program encourages creative expression and intellectual growth through the visual and performing arts.  These artistic endeavors complement the academic program and help students broaden their educational experience.  Each student has an opportunity through the Fine Arts program to build self-esteem and gain a sense of achievement.  Covenant students are challenged to discover and nurture their God-given artistic abilities.

The Fine Arts Department includes a team of talented faculty members who help students in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12 explore the wonders of a wide variety of performing and visual arts.  Classes and extra-curricular programs are offered in studio art, film-making, photography, 3-dimensional art and design, drama, chorus, symphonic and jazz band, flute choir, and more.  Each year, the program produces five stage productions, several instrumental and vocal concerts, as well as annual student art shows.  These activities contribute to the total educational experience and enable students to build relationships, develop leadership skills, pursue interests, and grow individually.

In the Upper School, students have an opportunity to compete and place in the MENC District XIII events, and each year Covenant students receive Piedmont Council of the Arts Rising Star Awards for their accomplishments in the visual and performing arts.  At the Lower School, a Talent Celebration highlights the students who master skills in the fine arts outside of the school day, giving them a venue to share their talent with the Covenant community.

A performing arts center, used by students in Kindergarten through Grade 12, is designed to present band concerts, choral festivals, and drama productions.  The auditorium features a stage, theatre lights, and sound system, and a seating capacity for 350.
