“Austin has been a great asset to Covenant Athletics in terms of his passion and desire to help our girls basketball program thrive. He has a plan and focus to help our program build a long-term focus towards continual development that I truly believe will be instrumental in maintaining success for all of our girls, both on and off the court, said Athletic Director Clark Walker.

Crocker, a Charlottesville native, graduated from St. Anne’s Belfield School before attending the College of William and Mary, receiving his Master’s of Arts in Education in 2013. While attending the College, Austin was heavily involved in the club basketball program and used all four years of his NCAA eligibility serving the women’s basketball team as a practice player. Returning to Charlottesville, he worked for the Virginia Basketball Academy (VABA) from 2013-2016, eventually serving as the Girls Program Director. He currently works at Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate III as a REALTOR and recently married his wife, Amelia.

“Everyone grows up wanting to be a professional athlete. For me that dream was over when I was about 15. I knew I wasn’t destined to become a sports super star so I started really getting into coaching right after my high school graduation. Coaching became my connection to the game I love so much and I dreamt of the day where I became the head coach of a program. Today, that dream comes true for me and I couldn’t have found a better place for my first opportunity as a head coach. After being with these girls as an assistant the last four years we’ve been able to cultivate an amazing team and family culture. I couldn’t be more excited to get started with this group of fantastic young ladies and to lead them into the season ahead,” said Crocker.

Austin can be reached at and will be assisted by Caroline Wilke and also will be finalizing his entire staff soon.
