Covenant Welcomes Daisy Rojas

LAH_0416The Covenant School warmly welcomes Daisy Rojas as the Associate Director of Advancement. Daisy will be overseeing annual giving, events, and marketing for the school.

Daisy is a native of the Charlottesville area and a graduate of the University of Virginia, with a B.A. in Anthropology and Latin American Studies, and a Master of Education with a concentration in Higher Education Administration. Daisy has volunteered in the public schools, the Waynesboro YMCA, and her church, where she taught English to children and adults from other countries. In addition to developing three family businesses engaged in contract negotiation, business consulting, and construction, Daisy has served the Charlottesville community and beyond in a variety of ways. Her role as a consultant for the Tayloe Murphy Foundation at the Darden School of Business resulted in discovery of $4 billion in under-utilized financial services in Virginia banks. As a consultant for Piedmont Housing Alliance, she led a feasibility study that led to the Charlottesville area BankOn program, which provides basic banking services to disadvantaged groups. She worked with the Curry School of Education, conducting pilot literacy screenings on more than 200 K-12 children at both private and public schools across the country. She also served as Stewardship Officer for The University of Virginia’s highest level giving circle, The Lawn Society. Prior to joining The Covenant School, she spent time working with government, corporate, and private stakeholders to develop The Cultural Exchange Institute (CEI), a 501(c)(3) study-abroad program located in Costa Rica. Daisy regularly contributes to several academic publications on topics related to education, business, and human relations, and her work has been published both in the U.S. and abroad. She and her husband Geiner have four children and are members of The Church of the Incarnation.
